"Dena is a fantastic partner. She is creative, enthusiastic and proactive. At Virginia Home for Boys and Girls, she immersed herself in our organization with a real passion for our mission. And she gets results. She far exceeded my expectations in terms of making connections with the media and spreading the good word about the Home."

"I can’t say enough about Dena Reynolds who is a magnificent public relations professional. She’s poured her heart and soul in to every project she’s ever completed for United Way. She is incredibly thorough. Ideas just pour out of her. And, she goes above and beyond to get media results. You can depend on Dena. I’m a big fan!"

JOAN MARABLE
Former Director of Marketing

"Dena was an excellent instructor. I have taken two classes from her focusing on nonprofit marketing: "Telling Your Nonprofit's Story" and "Courting the Media". Not only were her presentations spot on, but her examples were engaging and engrossing. I really appreciated Dena's approach to teaching. It was interactive and hands on. Students were ever involved, able to ask questions, and work out real challenges they faced in marketing in the classroom. Dena also made use of multiple materials in the class including PowerPoint, video, articles, group activities, and real examples taken from the marketing materials of other nonprofits. She was also extremely thorough despite the fact that she only had one business day to teach her class. To make up for only having her for one day, Dena never failed to send helpful follow up emails with extensive links to resources. Dena is clearly an expert in her field and when paired with her warmth and enthusiasm she makes for a wonderful teacher."

"Dena worked with James River Writers to publicize the 15th annual conference in October 2017. We sold out for the first time at the Greater Richmond Convention Center. Dena was a joy to work with, professional in every regard, and has great contacts. I highly recommend her for your nonprofit publicity work."

"Dena is great to work with. She is very attentive and responsive. As her client, she makes you feel like you are her top priority. As a PR consultant for Smart Beginnings Greater Richmond's Regional Kindergarten Registration Campaign that is now in its 7th year, Dena is constantly thinking about how we can keep the campaign fresh and newsworthy. She is open and honest about what could work and what won't work based on her knowledge and experience working in the media in RVA. Dena comes to the table with ideas and suggestions. She knows how to angle the story to get coverage. Beyond being a great PR consultant, Dena is a great person and I have enjoyed working with her on the kindergarten campaign for the past two years and I look forward to working with her in the future."

She's able to develop copy for campaigns and collateral projects as well as keeping multiple projects on schedule. She does it all! Her work is very thorough and organized. Dena is personable, easy to work with and very professional. She is solidly consistent and I would highly recommend her to any non-profit or corporation!"

“Dena is a subject matter expert in public relations, media, and marketing.  She has provided valuable insight and advice to our non-profit.  She is a joy to work with and she has helped us implement our name change from ElderHomes to project:HOMES.”

"Dena was an excellent facilitator training for the Coastal Virginia Community Action Training Coalition in Communications Planning. She provided relevant tools, resources and strategies to empower the group even beyond the stated expectations.

The group understood more and was able to think outside the box as a result of her knowledge and guidance, by working in groups to brainstorm and determine actionable items that could be implemented in their agencies.

After the workshop, Dena provided additional resources to the participants which will enable them to have information to assist them going forward. As Community Action Agencies, there is rarely adequate funding for Communications and Dena helped to address that gap for the agencies.

The feedback from the participants were all positive and I have even had multiple requests that we use Dena again. She will be a continued partner with Community Action."

"I had the pleasure of taking a couple of Dena's classes this spring and was very impressed. She was very well prepared for the class and very proficient in the skills she was teaching. The topics were both extremely broad, but she managed to condense into a day-long class without losing any important "meat" of the material. She had obviously been there/done that with both communications and storytelling and was able to teach using real-world experience as well as tangible examples. I would not only register for another one of her classes, but I would intentionally seek one taught by her."
